Well we are settling down into the day in and day out of the school semester. My time is taken up by mostly Chemistry. Cambria has started her preceptorship, which is where she follows a nurse around and does the nurses job with her. After work on Mondays she goes to Lakeview Hospital till 11pm. She drives to her parents house and sleeps there for the night. Tuesday morning she goes to work again, then straight to the hospital again till 11pm. Her schedule is pretty normal the rest of the week except Saturdays she goes to the hospital for most of the day. This will only last for six weeks, so only five to go till I have my wife back on Mondays and Tuesdays. It's good for me too as I don't have such a beautiful distraction around the house and somehow I get more homework done.
As busy as we are, we still have time to do things together from time to time. We were invited over to our Saudi Arabian neighbors house last week. We didn't really know them well but we had a way good time. Another American couple was there and we had fun talking about cultural differences. He showed us his wedding video and we talked about his country and how he's trying to learn English better. His wife had made amazing Saudi rice and chicken. Between him and some other Middle Easterners i've met at school they are some of the nicest most outgoing people I know.
Cambria is now five months pregnant and feeling great aside from wicked heartburn which has just set in a few days ago. We got rid of the queen size bed in our guest bedroom too. My sister Kari took the frame and box spring for her daughter, Payton. We gave away the mattress on KSL to a newly wed couple who had a horrible mattress and were very grateful to have an almost new one. While looking into the empty room I decided to take the pieces of a crib out of the closet that we have been hiding since we bought it last year. It was used but looks great! I put it together and it's only missing a bolt or two. It's so weird to have a crib set up in there now. I sat in there a few days ago and just stared at it. I looked at some of the little girl clothes my sister lent us too. It still doesn't feel real. We have been so busy that we don't have much time to think about it yet. Every once in a while I get hit with a realization that I will be a father soon.
Today during Sacrament Meeting in church we watched the little boy of a couple who were both giving talks. He was about 11 months old. It was fun but felt so strange to suddenly have a diaper bag, toys, treats, and a little guy squirming around wanting to hold it all at the same time. Even with crumbs on my pants and drool on my shirt from where he fell asleep I am looking forward to having a child of our own. During the closing song he put his ear against my chest and listened to me singing. He slowly fell asleep as he mimicked the low hum he could hear.

Something I couldn't post in June
This morning I woke up at a decent time with my mind set on getting all our things packed and everything ready for vacation. I walked out to the computer and called Cambria who was at work. After a minute of talking, she asked if I had been in the bathroom yet. I said no, and made my way back there. On the counter I found a piece of paper with the bold letters “Congratulations” typed across the top, followed by “you are going to be a daddy!” Cambria had left the pregnancy test there along with the paper. It was complete with a picture of a stork carrying a baby and an explanation that said our baby is due around February 10th. Needless to say I was excited. It is the first time we have consciously tried to get pregnant, and we weren’t keeping our hopes up. At the same time, it’s a huge thing to have a baby, and I am a bit nervous. Cambria feels nervous too but we are both looking forward to it. I heard a quote on a movie that said having a baby is like getting a tattoo on your face, you’d better be committed. All kidding aside, we are fully committed! I’m excited to start expanding our family. Cambria is so cute with our nieces & nephews and I can tell she will be an amazing mother.
