Thanksgiving

This is Cambria and I am reporting on Thanksgiving, it was a lot of fun this year.  It was our turn to spend Thanksgiving with the Penrod's this year, whereas my parents flew back to Virginia to spend time with Tyler and Mindy's family.

On Wednesday, the day before Thanksgiving, Josh and I met at Lyn and Larry's when I got off work and we were able to do some prep work for the big day.   My sweet husband peeled and cubed all of the potatoes for our mashed potatoes.  We then went up to pie night with Lynn.  Pie night is an annual tradition with the Larry's side of the family.  It is held up at Bart and Becky Penrod's in Brigham.  They are great hosts and it is always fun to see everyone.  This was the first time that Josh and I have actually been able to make it to pie night since we started dating.  I loved being able to see all of our family and enjoy all the different types of pie the night before Thanksgiving.  It always seems that I am way to stuffed to enjoy pie the day of Thanksgiving.

At this stage in my pregnancy I have been feeling overly stuffed when I eat even small amounts of food.  So of course I ate too much pie and the rest of the evening I ended up standing while visiting with everyone.  Standing has been one of the most comfortable positions for me lately.  That evening we spoke with many family members, but for most of the time we were able to visit with Steve and Emilee.  It is fun to spend time with them, we tend to have a lot to talk about.

We drove home later that night and I finished my prep work for the next day and Josh helped Larry set up there new beautiful entertainment center.  I quickly went to bed after that because I was exhausted and Josh was able to finish helping Larry.

The next morning I was able to get up and go to the gym, it was nice to work out before the big feast.  After getting ready I started cooking with Lyn to get everything ready for dinner.  We were able to get everything ready in time.  Of course Lyn set up the dining room so beautifully, we ate with candles lit and the perfect presentation.

The people that were at dinner were Kari, Kyle and their children.  Emilee was there, but Steve couldn't attend because he had to work until three.  Angie's family decided to have a small dinner with just their family this year.  We all missed them.  The meal was perfect. One of my favorite parts of dinner was Larry's homemade stuffing.  I was stuffed... but I couldn't get enough tastes :) everything was truly delicious.

After dinner we went down stairs and enjoyed the new theater and entertainment center.  We watched the movie "How to Train Your Dragon."  Because I was so full I was very uncomfortable so I fell asleep for the movie.  It ended up being a wonderful day!

We decided to stay at Lyn and Larry's again that night.  I went to work the next day and Josh went was able to go Black Friday Shopping.  He went to Kohl's and got a lot things for a great deal.  The best thing he got was a memory foam pad for our mattress.   It has saved my life during this pregnancy!  Sleeping on the memory foam just takes away my pain and has made me very comfortable.  I would like to say that my husband is once again my hero.

All and all this was a wonderful Thanksgiving.  More great memories have been made.  I am so grateful for family and the time we get to spend together.
