We laid in the sun and prepared our talks for church on Sunday, then just talked and enjoyed the sun. We went in the water and threw a water football around for a while. the breeze made it really cold to get out of the water once you were in, but it was nice after laying in the hot sun. There weren't too many people there, but once we put our towels down, a large family moved in next to us in the shade. They had a very obnoxious boy that kept literally running circles around their family, and because of the breeze, kept kicking sand on me. I wasn't sure what he thought he was doing, but he was making car racing noises and I started wondering who he thought was winning and if a sudden leg in the middle of his racetrack might bring the race to an abrupt end. Surprisingly, it was Cambria that finally told the kid not to run near us, and that ended his one man race, until later I saw him running sprints back and forth from the water to his family.
Once we left, we went home and got cleaned up. We went to a wedding reception for one of Cambria's friends named Devin. I had sort of noticed that it was just his mom standing in the line with him but didn't think too much of it, until later someone had told us that his dad had passed away only a week earlier in his sleep. I don't remember the cause but it was very sudden. I can't imagine not having my father, mother, or even my in-laws at our wedding. It would forever feel that there was something missing on such a happy day. I feel so blessed for all the happiness I have surrounding me in my life.
All they had to eat at the reception was deserts, which I admit I had too many of. We went out to eat afterwards at Eastern Winds Chinese Restaurant and had a great Japanese server. Chinese is Cambria's favorite. There are so many Chinese places on Washington that it's hard to decide, but Cambria said that Linda had liked this one, so that is where we went. I trust Linda's judgement on restaurants.
Our talks went well, and both our parents came. My sister, Emilee came, and brought my cousin, Mindy, who is staying with my parents. I enjoyed hearing Cambria speak. She always has a great spirit about her, that shines even brighter when she talks about Gospel subjects. It was really a great weekend, and I got to spend all of it with my wife.
